Girls and Women from underprivileged communities suffer stigma and discrimination more so if they are suffering from any kind of disability. Poverty and disability make their life very vulnerable, and therefore Helplife wants to work for the cause of improving their lives so that they can be part of mainstream society and become a respectful member of society.

Helplife began with a simple yet profound purpose: to give back to society. Founded by healthcare professionals and like-minded individuals, the organization started its journey modestly, conducting free medical camps for the underprivileged. Dr Neelam Bhardwaj, heart of HelpLife, is a medical practitioner and public health expert in reproductive health. Driven by her passion, Dr. Bhardwaj revolutionized rural obstetrics, developing innovative birthing models for safe deliveries using appropriate technology.
However, it was during her research that she uncovered a heartbreaking reality—young girls with disabilities in rural communities were not only overlooked but also mistreated by their families and society. This discovery sparked a vision and a mission for HelpLife.
Helplife took a stand, championing programs to combat stigma and discrimination against girls with disabilities. This 4-step business model ensures that Helplife’s mission of transformation is achieved sustainably, with a focus on empowerment, measurable impact, and community leadership.
Objective: Lay the foundation for transformation by providing personalized counselling, emotional healing, and motivation.
Process: Each beneficiary undergoes a thorough assessment followed by a 3-month empowerment phase, where they are introduced to the holistic model and begin their journey towards reclaiming dignity.
Outcome: Beneficiaries start to rebuild confidence and mental resilience, preparing them for the next phase of change.
Objective: Address the four key areas of human development — mental, physical, social, and financial.
Process: Tailored interventions are delivered across these four components, including healthcare, life skills training, social integration, and financial literacy or support programs.
Outcome: Beneficiaries develop essential skills and receive the resources needed to improve their overall well-being and quality of life.
Objective: Track the progress and effectiveness of interventions, ensuring that beneficiaries' needs are being met and changes are being sustained.
Process: Every three months, beneficiaries are assessed using tools and resources developed by Helplife to measure progress against Action Plans.
Outcome: Continuous improvement is ensured through feedback, data-driven insights, and adaptive strategies.
Objective: Ensure long-term sustainability by empowering beneficiaries to become leaders and advocates within their communities.
Process: Once beneficiaries complete the program, many transition into volunteer roles and become change agents, helping to onboard and guide new members of the Helplife community.
Outcome: A self-sustaining model is created where empowered individuals contribute to the growth of the organization, expanding its reach and impact while building a cycle of hope and support within communities.
Care Helplife supports safe and healthy pregnancies with self-care tools and emotional support. It also helps adolescent girls prepare for future relationships through life coaching.
The CBR program empowers people with disabilities to access services, build skills, and contribute to their communities. It has helped 150 differently abled individuals achieve financial independence.
Empowers differently abled girls with life skills, education, and vocational training, helping them integrate into society. Since 2006, it has supported 50 girls in pursuing higher education and careers.
Supports underprivileged children, including at-risk youth and differently abled groups, with education, care, and financial aid. To date, the program has helped 100-plus children.
