Medical camps served 21,000 patients. Maternal health program (2005) in 60 villages earned national and international awards.
In addition to medical camps, disability research began with a pilot for rural girls. Partnered with ICMR, benefiting 22,980 individuals overall.
CSR-backed programs expanded to 25,000 beneficiaries, empowering employment and strengthening disability recognition through Helplife’s efforts.
Livelihood programs empowered girls with disabilities, but COVID halted operations. The shift to online learning and mental health initiatives ensured continued impact.
With 15 years of research, Helplife developed the ICMP model, achieving transformative impact for girls with disabilities through empowerment and performance.
Helplife began with a simple yet profound purpose: to give back to society. Founded by healthcare professionals and like-minded individuals, the organization started its journey modestly, conducting free medical camps for the underprivileged. Dr Neelam Bhardwaj, heart of HelpLife, is a medical practitioner and public health expert in reproductive health. Driven by her passion, Dr. Bhardwaj revolutionized rural obstetrics, developing innovative birthing models for safe deliveries using appropriate technology.
However, it was during her research that she uncovered a heartbreaking reality—young girls with disabilities in rural communities were not only overlooked but also mistreated by their families and society. This discovery sparked a vision and a mission for HelpLife.
Helplife took a stand, championing programs to combat stigma and discrimination against girls with disabilities. Over 15 years, the organization designed and implemented community-based innovative models that offered these girls hope and opportunity. Their resilience became the cornerstone of Helplife’s work, transforming lives and creating ripples of change.
Today, Helplife has grown its mission, spreading joy and support to the most vulnerable, including people living with disabilities. Through holistic development initiatives, Helplife breaks the intergenerational cycle of poverty, empowering marginalized individuals and making meaningful contributions to nine Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) globally. HelpLife’s journey is one of unwavering compassion, innovation, and impact — a testament to the belief that even modest beginnings can lead to extraordinary transformations.
